Thriller Story: The Last Message From Room 309

A Short Suspense Story That Will Keep You Guessing

Room 309 was always locked. Students in the hostel believed it was haunted, but no one truly knew what happened inside.
Aarav, a journalism student, was curious by nature—and curiosity is often dangerous.

📩 The Mysterious Message

One night at 2:13 AM, Aarav received a strange message on his phone:

“DON’T OPEN ROOM 309. HE IS STILL INSIDE.”

The sender was unknown.
No profile picture.
No previous chat.
Nothing.

A chill ran down Aarav’s spine, but he was more curious than scared.

🔦 The Hallway

The hostel was silent. Everyone was asleep.
Aarav walked slowly toward Room 309 with a flashlight in his trembling hand.

The closer he got, the colder the air became.

He reached the door.

It wasn’t locked anymore.

It was slightly open.

👣 Footsteps Inside

A soft sound came from inside—like someone dragging their feet across the floor.

Aarav whispered,
“Who’s there…?”

Suddenly, the door creaked open wider by itself.

🕯️ The Room

Inside, the room was completely dark except for a single candle burning in the corner.
The wax was dripping—one drop at a time.

On the wall were scratches…
Dozens of them.
Words carved deeply:

“LET ME OUT”
“HE’S HERE”
“DON’T TRUST HIM”

Aarav swallowed hard.

📱 The Second Message

His phone buzzed again.

“IF YOU’RE IN THE ROOM, DON’T TURN AROUND.”

Aarav froze.

His breath got heavy.
His hands shook.
A cold presence stood behind him… too close.

He could feel the air on his neck.

👤 The Shadow

A low whisper came:

“Why did you come here…?”

Aarav gathered the courage and slowly turned around.

There was someone there.
A tall, dark shadow with glowing eyes.

Aarav tried to scream, but his voice didn’t come out.

Everything went black.

⏳ The Next Morning

The hostel warden found Aarav unconscious outside Room 309, his phone still in his hand.

On the screen was a new message:

“YOU SHOULD HAVE LISTENED.”

And below it…

Sent from Room 309.

But the room…
was completely empty.

No candle.
No scratches.
No shadow.

Just silence.
